The gold coast is known for brown stone in lime stone mansions with tall trees and parkway gardens. You could literally walk for miles amongst this wonderful neighborhood and drive to some of the finest restaurants and midwest beaches. The area has some of the largest parks and the free Lincoln Park zoo just to the north. It is common to see the sidewalks, flushed with people, walking dogs, looking at shops, running errands, having coffee or enjoying the many outdoor eateries. The area remains home, some of the wealthiest in the nation per capita.
And there is no shortage of iconic, historic hotels and many activities, such as historic walking tours, boating, and outdoor sports.
